In this nature-filled episode, we are joined by Lee and Phil Rast—two very special people in my life—as well as the many lives they care for each and every day. Lee and Phil are the founders and operators of Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary in Lyerly, Georgia—having cared for nearly 200 horses since their humble beginning in 2011. Though far from easy, they (understandably so) consider this to be the most rewarding endeavor of their professional lives.
This highly impromptu episode has us recording on Lee and Phil's back patio surrounded by goats, wild turkeys, chickens, the occasional crowing rooster—and yes—the many horses that call this enchanting place home.
We discuss their background; the origin of the rescue; many heart-wrenching stories of recent and past years—but also the many celebrations of life and restoration that have transpired along the way.
As always, thanks for joining us! If you'd like to reach out to us, you can email us at contact@hindlightmedia.com.
